Picnic by the River by Catherine Wilson is a level 2 piano solo that is peaceful, lilting and atmospheric.  The lyrical right hand explores the intervals of 5ths and 6ths, that perhaps convey the image of reaching out for items to consume, accompanied by an ostinato style left hand to mimic movement of the water.

Catherine lives in a small rural village in Shropshire, England and has over 25 years experience teaching piano.  Since completing her Master’s Degree specialising in composition, Catherine has chosen to compose in a lyrical minimalist style in order for her pieces to be both educational and relaxing.
