Caterpillar Rhythms | Rhythm Game

Enhance your students' basic rhythm skills with this cute creepy crawly! 

Rhythms included:

Semibreve (whole note), minim (half note), crotchet (quarter note),
2 quavers (2 eighth notes), 4 semiquavers (4 sixteenth notes)

Semibreve rest (whole rest), minim rest (half rest), crotchet rest (quarter rest)

CATERPILLAR CREATION
Students create colourful caterpillars, making them as long as they want, and then clap the rhythms they've made. 

Clap them forwards, clap them backwards, change the order around - have fun!

TEACHER CATERPILLAR 
The teacher creates a selection of caterpillars with different rhythms, then chooses one to clap and have the student work out which caterpillar they clapped. 

This could also be used in a group setting where one student picks a caterpillar to clap and the other students work out which caterpillar was chosen.
