This bundle of lesson plans is designed for movement-based music classes. Each lesson plan features a popular story and includes approximately 10 activities centered around that story. The stories include:
- Mouse Paint
- We're Going On A Bear Hunt
- If You Give A Mouse A Cookie
- The Watermelon Seed
- Pete The Cat
- Little Blue Truck
- Llama Llama Red Pajama
- How Do Dinosaurs Count To Ten
- Goodnight Moon
- Five Little Monkeys
These lesson plans were designed for PreK and Kindergarten aged kids, but early elementary kids love the stories and activities as well.
Lesson plans include
- A list of materials needed for each class (things you probably already have on hand)
- A list of songs to have ready on your playlist
- Detailed instructions for how to carry out all of the activities in the class
- Sheet music for songs with notation, chords and lyrics
Each lesson plan has enough material for approximately 30 minutes, but you could easily adapt them to suit your own needs for a longer or shorter class.
My musical lesson plans teach basic musical concepts such as rhythm, singing, and movement, but are also great for developing coordination, gross and fine motor skills, and literacy skills. These lesson plans can be used as is or modified as needed, for toddlers, preschoolers, early elementary (kindergarten, first and second grade), and homeschool co-ops.
This easy-to-teach lesson plan requires simple materials - generally egg shakers, scarves, a Bluetooth speaker, and an optional piano, keyboard, ukulele, or guitar. All songs can also be sung a capella if you don't play an instrument. You'll get activities themed for the lesson plan and instructions on how they should be performed, a complete list of songs to add to your playlist and any sheet music needed, complete with chords and notation. You can teach this lesson plan without an extensive musical background yourself!
