Did Someone Say Christmas
|PRODUCT TYPE||Digital Download|
Ideal for younger players…with creative learning at its heart…several of the pieces have added activities likely to engage children in their learning. There’s certainly an emphasis on ‘fun’ in this collection.”
Andrew Eales, leading UK Piano Educator.
This book is packed with Christmas fun especially for the beginner pianist! You’ll find 7 new, original solos with lyrics, 5 familiar and famous Classical tunes reimagined with festive lyrics, and 3 well known Christmas songs for good measure! There are opportunities to discuss chords, improvising, modulations and much more!
Early-level arrangements have the student play the melody split between the hands, with starting hand positions given in keyboard diagrams. Optional duet accompaniments create a fulfilling musical experience. Easy solos, which give the student an opportunity to play hands-together, lay comfortably under the hand and are marked with helpful fingering. Changes of hand position are also marked to further aid learning. There’s also a piece included for working on reading chord symbols, as well as a handful of engaging activities to strengthen listening skills, develop inner hearing and explore improvisation. Lyrics have been especially written so students and/or teachers can sing along, or get friends or family to join in as you play!
It is important to introduce students to some of the great composers to help enrich their development and education. This is one of the reasons I chose 5 well known classical pieces and adapted them for this book. With special Christmas lyrics added, these melodies become more festive and even more fun to play!
