Expressions - Artistic Solos for Late Beginners

Expressions is a collection of 10 original pieces designed to help the developing pianist learn to play expressively, convey emotion, and tell a story with music. This book also helps to compensate for the sometimes lack of interesting and musically sensitive repertoire within the lower level method books. These pieces are very satisfying for pianists of all ages in the early stages. Late Beginner level with a few songs bordering Early Intermediate.

TEACHING TIPS: Pedal should be freely used, but pedal markings throughout can be distracting and confusing, so allow the ear to dictate when to pedal. Keep in mind that each piece tells a story or conveys an emotion and try to have that come through.
