HALLOWEEN IN SLOTHLAND
It’s Halloween in Slothland and all the sloths have dressed up ready for the big Slothy Halloween Party. A massive bowl of treats was put out but it’s gone missing! We have a list of suspects (slothpects) but we need help figuring out who’s innocent and who had something to do with the theft.
Four worksheets (testing finger numbers & piano notes | note values | rhythms | treble clef note reading) and each worksheet takes you one step closer to discovering who stole the treats!
There’s also a bonus improvisation activity the sloth’s have created as a thank you for finding their treats!
A certificate is included to congratulate students’ on solving the case!
HALLOWEEN IN SLOTHLAND RACE
This game sees players identifying notes in bass clef and treble clef in order to navigate their way from ‘Start’ to ‘End’. Watch out for the Halloween sloths - some are friendly but some are mean!
TRICK OR TREATING IN SLOTHLAND
See who can collect the most candy when trick or treating in Slothland! Players move around the board by identifying the note and rest values on the question cards. When they land on a house they then identify the note value to see how many candies they get!
HALLOWEEN RHYTHMS IN SLOTHLAND
Have fun creating different rhythms (with the matching time signatures) with our Halloween Sloth pals and their Halloween treats! There are several ways you can use this game - they’re all detailed in the instructions.
NOTE READING WORKSHEETS
It’s a well-known fact that sloths love food, especially Halloween treats (or any treat for that matter!)
Help them work out who gets which treat by matching up the treble clef and bass clef notes to letters.
INCENTIVE CHARACTER SHEETS
Nine adorable sloth characters have 20 pumpkins each. Allocate a sloth to each student and decide on your ‘pumpkin rules’ - what a student has to do to earn a pumpkin.
You can choose things like ‘if you play your piece and I can tell you’ve practiced this week’, ‘every time you complete a new piece’, ‘if you can answer a theory question’ - whatever you want! More suggestions are included in the download, but it’s up to you to tailor the pumpkin rules to suit your studio.
You can also decide what the pumpkins mean. Again, you can tailor it to your studio, but suggestions include things like ‘when you reach 20 pumpkins you win a prize’, ‘first to 10 pumpkins wins a prize’ or ‘when you reach 5 pumpkins you can request a game or new piece’.
SLOTH PLAYING PIECES
Just because I think everything should be sloth themed, I’ve also included the sloth characters on playing pieces you can print, cut, fold, and use in the sloth games!
