Are you looking for Christmas music games for the holiday season?
Do you want to test your beginner students' music theory knowledge in fun and enjoyable ways? Check out this bundle of three reindeer-themed music theory games!
RUDOLPH THE RHYTHM REINDEER
Meet Rudolph the Rhythm Reindeer! Rudolph has some Christmas Rhythm Phrases for everyone to complete.
Players move around the board by answering note reading cards (treble clef and bass clef), hoping to land on a note space to collect a note card for their Christmas rhythm phrase.
First player to fill their Christmas Rhythm Phrase with the correct note cards is the winner!
DON'T STEAL MY CARROTS
Reindeers love carrots, but so does the Christmas Bunny! Players move arount the board and collect carrots by answering music maths question cards. But beware - the carrot is not yours until you take it to the carrot bowl, meaning if you land on a Christmas Bunny space, he will steal a carrot!
First player to collect 10 carrots is the winner!
A sweet and simple racing game where players identify intervals (steps or skips) on question cards in order to know how many spaces to move. First to reach the end is the winner!
The question cards from each game can be used in all three games.
This means you can...
- Test one musical element in three different games
- Play the same game three times using different question cards each time
- Play the same game with students who need to practice different things (for example maybe one student needs to go over their steps and skips identification but the other player needs to go over note values!)
- Shuffle all the cards together and have your students answer a mix of music theory questions
