This is a great game for students of all ages who are having trouble with right and left hands, or who struggle to associate those with up and down on the staff. The quick pace and fun actions of Left Right Smash Crash make it a great brain break, too, for little ones who need to get the wiggles out and regain focus.
How to Play
Multi-player version:
- Shuffle both sets of cards and put them in 2 piles, face down, beside each other with a gap in the middle.
- The dealer turns over 1 card from each pile at a time and the first player to do the action correctly, with the correct hand, gets that pair of cards. (If you do not have an extra person to be the dealer, players can turn one card each.)
- 1 = play 1 key
- Head = tap your head
- Up = Stretch up towards the sky
- Down = Touch the floor
- Crash = play a random cluster of keys with your palm
- Smash = play a random cluster of keys with a closed fist
- The winner is the one with the most cards when all the cards are gone.
Solo version:
- Shuffle both sets of cards and put them in 2 piles, face down, beside each other with a gap in the middle.
- Turn over a card from each pile into the centre and quickly do the action with the correct hand. (The actions are the same as in the multi-player version above.)
- Once you've done the correct action, turn over the next 2 cards and continue in this way until all the cards are gone.
- Time yourself and see if you can get faster each time.
Assembly
To assemble this game:
- Print out the game cards (pages 4-15).
- Trim along the dotted lines.
