Vespe for solo piano

VESPE is a classical piano piece for advanced level pianists at approximately grade 8 (ABRSM, AMEB or RCM) standard.

The piece features a fast repeating, buzzy riff which is redolent of the sound of the Vespa scooters which whizz around Italian cities in the summer sounding like a swarm of wasps. The music is technically quite demanding but rewards the performer with rich harmonies and varied sonorities. It is a great showpiece - excellent for a concert opener or even as an encore.
