Walking on a Tightrope

This jaunty 2-page piece for the more advanced beginner can introduce and demonstrate a wide range of musical terminology to help the student achieve fluent reading, understanding and playing. It can be done with and then without the score.

The terminology  involved includes staff lines and spaces (not unlike the five fingers of a hand held sideways), legato/staccato, treble clef, 4/4 time signature, the purpose of leger lines, finger numbers, noticing repeated notes, how to play accents, the octave distance and sound, simile, variation form, note values, how to count interval distances, sequences, brief C major to G major modulations, the sharp, rests, slurs and bar/measure numbers.
